  3. Lori Friend says:

THANK YOU for taking on these hard choices!!! Hang tough, PLEASE! We knew it was going to be hard and that they were going to want to shoot the messenger but it is something you have to do and I admire you for this! GREATLY!

  4. John,

You’re saying all the right things and initial indicators are you are doing all the right things. Keep it up! Don’t let the unions trap you.

  5. Kudos, Governor Kasich! We are ready for the kind of change you’re talking about. Let’s clean this state up. Ohio’s too wonderful to let go down the tubes.
School choice is a must. And dealing the unions will be difficult, but don’t back down, please. We can’t afford what they’re doing to our education system.
    God bless you!

  6. Three cheers for the Gov.! He has a lot of hard choices to make and they are going to hit very close to home for all of us, however, thank goodness he realizes we cannot continue to follow the same old path to destruction. Kudos, indeed!

  7. I’m a non-union firefighter. I work hard to serve the citizens of my community. I pay taxes, raise a family, invest in Ohio companies, spend money in local family run stores, etc. Just your everyday general family guy next door. I pay my fair share into Ohio’s police and firefighter pension fund. SB 5 will do nothing more than harm Ohio’s first responders. Ohio’s firefighters and police are not the reason the economy is in the dumpster. We are not the villans. Why harm all for the mistakes of a few? I thought you were the answer sir. Apparently, I was wrong.

  8. Dear Governor…I just heard you on the Sean Hannity show. I agree something needs to be done about the budget deficit. What about my sister who works in the Attorney General’s office? She doesn’t make big bucks, she doesn’t have cadilac health care benefits, or a huge retirement. Your plan is to cut her salary in half? What about the multiple, unnecessary management staff in her office who are making twice what she makes. Who are, btw non-union. This is not the answer. Cut entitlement spendidng, kick lazy people who are able to work off the welfare rolls. Tell the truth about this whole thing.

  9. Joel Webster says:

President John F. Kennedy quoted this:

“Those who would destroy or further limit the rights of organized labor-those who cripple collective bargaining or prevent organization of the unorganized-do a disservice to the cause of democracy.”

Bills like S.B. 5 are only something you would see in a Dictatorship.

  10. Kudos John! Keep making the difficult but necessary choices. Speaking of tough choices, when will the rest of us Ohioans, both our leaders in the state government as well as us taxpaying citizens going to stop funding the school systems in the current and UNCONSTITUTIONAL manner which we have been doing for decades.

Just this past week my local school district voted to put a continuation of an “Emergency” tax levy which narrowly passed in 2009 on the May ballot. This cost middle class taxpayers like my self and ADTIONAL $600 per year! The teachers unions and the elected school board members whom they contributed to have already stated pitching this levy by saying it will collect “NO ADDITIONAL TAXES”.

I work hard to send my children to private schools because the public system doesn’t prepare them well for life after high school and I don’t get one penny back for not burdening their system. When will Ohioans tell the schools to get rid of the bureaucrats in the public schools as well as stop paying millions of dollars to build and operate athletic facilities? The private schools get no money for athletics, but athletics are it he first thing public schools punish the kids with when their levies fails. You can’t tell me the public school system is bloated with millions of dollars in waste and every year they keep demanding that we pay them more out of the less that we have. It will only change when the voters stop the madness of approving levies which will thereby force our elected leaders – including Mr. Kasich – to obey the Ohio Supreme Court, and make the schools accountable and operate as a business.

  11. Joseph Kaly says:

Keep doing what your doing, you and your team is on the right tract
