Please take a moment to watch John and Mary’s new statewide television ad: “New Way.”
In the ad, John discusses the budget problems our state has had and the fact that Ohio is a high tax state. In order to create jobs and bring taxpayers back to Ohio, we’re going to need to lower taxes and cut the fat out of government.
After you watch the ad, please use the tools above to share it with your friends and family. Also, feel free to leave a comment below. Your feedback is very valuable.
What is the down side? If you lower taxes how will you get us out of financial rut we are in? What other things can be cut in the spending column to offset the reduction in revenues?
Good words, spoken with authority. However, I felt like I was watching a commercial rather than a campaign speech. I know nothing about campaigning but I wonder if looking directly into the camera at times might connect John better with me, the viewer, and bring me into the situation rather than simply feeling like a spectator. I really want John and Mary to win this critical race.
If you want to identify where to save money within the state gov’t.. Remove all the redundant IT infrastructure not shared among different agencies. CPUs cycles not used to a high degree of capacity, idle media storage space, redundant fees paid for the same applications and IT staff with expertise not shared among agencies. Outsourcing functions will not help until you identify and eliminate inefficiencies and duplication of operation. Not to mention what can be saved by having centrally procurrred goods and services division.
Mr Kasich:
I enjoyed listening to you in Ft Recovery last week. I didn’t have the opportunity to speak with you personally, but wanted to pass along the following information:
I have a 23 year old daughter who lives in N. Carolina after moving in 2008 to where jobs were more plentiful. It is incredible to me the number of young people my daughter has met who have roots from Ohio who are in NCarolina for the same reason. If we cut taxes, give tax credits for creating jobs, and cut fat out of government we can bring these young people, many of whom might be the future leaders of Ohio back home!!!
Very, very effective ad. Love the positive tone with no sniping, and the earnestness and sense of “we can do this together” is right on target. Met both Mr. Kasich and Ms. Taylor last night in Granville, and am more impressed than ever with this team.
This is a good ad for John. Here is a suggested point that could be incorporated in the election narrative. Feel free to use this:
If you raise taxes on Employers there is less money to pay Employees, everybody understands that.
Don’t refer to Employer as “Business” and people will better understand how raising taxes hurts everyone.
This is better than the first or maybe greatly helps the first ad work. It simply states the main reason …jobs… makes a simple pricing point that everyone understands as an example and is believable…..very good impressions and it’s all thats needed . NOw paln more ideas of the same short believable comments.
Very good job.
Greg
Great ad John, best of luck to you and Mary!
There are a ton of folks pulling for you!
I’d like to hear more about this New Way…I agree this is what should be done, but how are you proposing that you are going to go about doing it? Most people know what NEEDS to happen, but I’d like to hear the HOW. Thanks.
I have watched this Ad before. Great AD!
Thanks for not repeatedly mentioning the opponents name. They say the guy in Florida lost because he was constantly mentioning his opponent. When they go to vote they remember the name they’ve heard most often. Lowering taxes, and cut spending is the only way to get Ohio going again. Go, Go, Sunshine!!
John,
Good AD! Eastern Ohio is buzzing with new found Marcellus Shale gas deposits. Drilling creates jobs, wealth and tax revenue. Come over and join the excitement and keep Ohio friendly to environmentally safe drilling.
Best Regards,
John Jay
Great ad! I realize you do not want to get into specifics, but there is so much wasteful spending by our state government that just IDENTIFYING one or two programs will help people understand what we fiscal conservatives are all about.
Terrific Ad Govenor. Your leadership is just what Ohio and this country needs to get back on track! As goes Ohio, so goes the Country. You Go John
