Reviving the Economy is Job One

Home > Reviving the Economy is Job One

The Problem:
As a result of Ted Strickland’s anti-business, big-spending policies, the recession has hurt Ohio worse than other states and we are recovering more slowly as well. Under Ted Strickland, almost 400,000 Ohioans have lost their jobs, 13,000 more Ohioans fell into poverty, more than 16,000 businesses have disappeared and Ohioans' income has grown 23 percent less than US per-capita income.

This is not the Ohio we know and this is not the Ohio we want to leave to our children and grandchildren.

We Can Do Better:
To get Ohio back on track, John Kasich and Mary Taylor believe that we must:

  • Focus like a laser on reviving Ohio’s economy and creating jobs. Economic development will be Job One.
  • Create a business-friendly environment that encourages entrepreneurs to take risks and businesses to expand and relocate here.
  • Reduce government spending, reduce taxes and reduce red tape.
  • Improve education and job training to prepare Ohioans for good-paying jobs and provide businesses with a skilled workforce.
